NAIG 2023 Athlete Named to RBC Training Ground Top 100 Athletes

Congratulations to NAIG 2023 Team Manitoba 16U volleyball athlete & silver medalist Ryley Oulette for being named to the RBC Training Ground Top 100 Athletes!

"RBC Training Ground is a national program that identifies and supports young Canadian Olympic hopefuls. Since the program launched in 2016, 13 of the program's alumni have become Olympians. Team Canada at Tokyo 2020 included eight RBC Training Ground athletes and another five competed at Beijing 2022. More recently, RBC Training Ground alumnus Pierce LePage was crowned 2023 World Champion in the decathlon.

RBC Training Ground Top 100 athletes will compete for RBC 'Future Olympian' status at the 2023 National Final, being held in Toronto, Ontario.

This past year more than 2,200 young athletes participated at RBC Training Ground qualifying events across Canada in front of 12 National Sport Organization (NSO) partners, all looking for Olympic-level talent. Among those that advanced to sport-specific testing, these exceptional athletes were identified as the most promising and will compete one last time on December 2nd for the chance at funding and support as the RBC 'Future Olympians' program extension.

Athletes who are selected as an RBC "Future Olympian" will receive funding assistance to be used for travel, competition, training camp expenses, coaching, nutrition, or other sport-related costs. The funds are administered by the Canadian Olympic Committee directly to the athlete's NSO."

Good luck Ryley! She will be joined by fellow Manitoban Lexy Schimnowski.
