Athlete of the Month March 2019

The MASRC wants to recognize Indigenous athletes and their outstanding achievements in sport throughout the province. This recognition will be highlighted monthly on all our social media portals. It will go to an individual who has excelled in their respective sport over the past month.

We are pleased to announce Juliet Simpson-Hart as March's Athlete of the Month!

Juliet is a 17-year-old multi-sport athlete who participates in Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, and Table Tennis with her favourite of all of them being Basketball. She has been playing Basketball recreationally for a long time but just had the opportunity to join a team in grade 10. March was a tough month for Juliet when she sustained a knee injury, but she was able to persevere and still make the Volleyball team!

She says her favourite part about Sport is the adrenaline rush she gets from it. She has also learned some great lessons like "having a good attitude not only keeps yourself motivated, but keeps your teammates motivated as well."

Juliet's great attitude and leadership are part of what led her to be named captain of both her Soccer team and Basketball team this year!

Congratulations to Juliet!
