Fourth year University of Manitoba Kinesiology student and York Factory First Nation member Antonina Kandiurin is running 3.5 kilometers a day in support of York Factory First Nation youth.
The small northern community is currently in the midst of a mental-health emergency after two youth died by suicide last month.
To support sports and recreation programs for youth in the community, Antonina has raised over $3,000.00. She is also inviting everyone to join her for the last day of her run, March 16th, 2023 at 6:00PM at the James Daly Fieldhouse at the University of Manitoba.
If you are considering running with her on her last day, please bring donations of sports equipment if able. The community is specifically looking for gently used hockey equipment as well as gently used volleyballs, basketballs, and soccer balls.
