Applications are not yet open, and official coaching requirements have not yet been finalized.
In the meantime, we strongly encourage prospective coaches to complete the courses listed below, as these have been required of coaches at previous North American Indigenous Games. All requirements will be communicated once they are confirmed, so please check this webpage regularly for updates.
We strongly recommend that prospective coaches complete the following courses prior to applications opening:
A coaching resume outlining relevant experience
Completed National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) certification in the applicable NAIG sport(s)
A valid Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Must be a resident of Manitoba
Preference will be given to Indigenous coaches where qualified candidates are available. Applicants should be prepared to self-identify as Indigenous and provide documentation confirming their Indigenous identity, as part of the selection process.

We acknowledge that the Manitoba Aboriginal Sports & Recreation Council Inc. (MASRC) operates on the ancestral lands covered by Treaty 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 10, as well as the lands of the unsigned Dakota Nations. These territories are home to the Anishinaabeg, Anishininewuk, Dakota Oyate, Denesuline, and Nehethowuk Nations, the Inuit in the north, and the National Homeland of the Red River Métis.
As an Indigenous organization, the MASRC is committed to advancing the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada's Calls to Action #87 - 91, which highlight the role of sports and recreation as tools for empowerment and reconciliation with Indigenous communities.
