We are delighted to announce that Bruce W.J. Miller has been hired as the new MASRC Executive Director.

Bruce is a proud member of Matachewan First Nation and brings more than 25 years of experience uniting sport, education, and philanthropy to advance Indigenous inclusion and community well-being. His career highlights include:

* Started the Winnipeg Aboriginal Sport Achievement Centre and helped launch the Canada Games Sport for Life Centre.

* Led projects that directed more than $3.8 million into scholarships, local sports, and community programs.

* Increased Indigenous representation at the University of Manitoba and co-chaired the first North American Indigenous Games Research Symposium.

* Held senior leadership and fundraising roles with the Universities of Manitoba and Winnipeg, United Way of Winnipeg, Indspire, and the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund.

Bruce studied Business Administration and Recreation Studies and has specialized training in Indigenous-focused philanthropy. He's known for building strong relationships with First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities, governments, and funders-always guided by the spirit of reconciliation.

With his vision, connections, and passion for empowering Indigenous youth through sport and education, Bruce will be a huge asset to the MASRC.

We're excited to work with him to keep moving our mandate forward.
