Canada Day Lax Bash Wrap Up

During the day saw participants from Winnipeg, Roseau River, Long Plain, Portage La Prairie, Sagkeeng First Nations, an a surprising amount of new immigrants to Canada taking part in our National Sport.

The event also included Elder's Barbara and Clarence Nepinak from Pine Creek, Manitoba sharing their Opening Remarks and Prayer to start the day, as well as a very talented upcoming artist from Winnipeg, Mr. Ronnie Ladobruk playing our national anthem on guitar.

A great demonstration game featuring local lacrosse talents vs. Long Plain First Nation whose team won the inaugural Two Rivers Cup over Roseau River.

We had a music man playing Canadian artists throughout the games, an announcer giving fun historical lacrosse facts, and finally some spectacular prize draws to finish off the day.

Youth1st Lacrosse is extremely grateful for the support of Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council. We hope to continue this celebration of sport and cultural awareness for years to come!

Sincerely,

Don Jacks
