Physical Literacy Program Facilitator - Canada Summer Jobs: 8 week (2 positions)

Position Description:

Under the direction of the Director of Communications, the Physical Literacy Program Facilitator (PLP Facilitator) will run two, four weeks program for Indigenous children, between the ages 2-4. The first program is a parented program designed for 2-3 year olds to develop gross motor skills.

The second program is a non parented program for 3-4 year olds to develop fine motor skills. Children will explore a different activities each week and may include: floor hockey, soccer, basketball, gymnastics and more. The curriculum will also focus on teaching social skills, sharing and class structure.

The ideal candidate will be trained in both program curriculums.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Learn and facilitate both parented and non parented curriculum
  • Manage registration and reporting process
  • Take photos and videos when necessary
  • Set up and tear down play space daily
  • Other duties as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal communications skills
  • Proven ability to follow direction, complete tasks and meet deadlines
  • Passion for working with children
  • Personable, confident, and curious nature
  • A love for teaching
  • Experience working with children under five years of age

Other:

  • A valid Full Class 5 Driver's License is an asset
  • Criminal Record Check and Manitoba Child Abuse Registry Check are required

Preference will be given to those of Indigenous descent (First Nation, Métis and Inuit)

*This position has the ability to become a part-time position during the year for suitable candidates
