MASRC Urban Sport & Rec Youth Drop-In

Manitoba Aboriginal Sports and Recreation Council (MASRC) is developing sport and recreation programs for Indigenous youth in Winnipeg. The Sport for Social Development program is funded by the Federal Government of Canada and its goal is to increase confidence, develop basic fundamental movement skills and attendance in school by increasing their participation in sport and recreation. We have created a drop-in program that will run throughout the year and is open to all Indigenous youth.

When: Saturdays from 4PM-8PM (Starting in January 11, 2020)

Where: Freight House Community Centre (Door #3 - 200 Isabel Street, Winnipeg)

What:

  • Introduction to Sports 4:00PM to 5:00PM
  • Open Gym! from 5:00PM to 8:00PM

*Snacks and light beverages will be provided

We hope that by providing a safe environment for urban Indigenous youth to gather and participate in sport and recreation will increase their confidence in being active and encourage them to continue attending school.
