Team Manitoba featured in the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame

Winnipeg, MB - Manitoba's Aboriginal Women's Hockey team that dominated the 2009 National Aboriginal Hockey Championships in Winnipeg this past May are receiving recognition in the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame.
A photo of the undefeated Championship team hoisting the national trophy has made its way into the 2008-09 North American Year in Review photomural. Showcasing the champions, milestones and award winners from the most recent year, the photomural will be on display in the Hall of Fame for the next year.
"I am pleased to congratulate Manitoba's Aboriginal Women's Hockey team on behalf of the province as they are welcomed into the Canadian Hockey Hall of Fame," said Culture, Heritage, Tourism and Sport Minister Eric Robinson. "Manitoba is known for cultivating strong women competitors across a wide range of sports."
"Sport Manitoba is very proud of the success of our Aboriginal Women's Hockey team," said Jeff Hnatiuk, President and CEO of Sport Manitoba. "We are pleased to see these amazing young women receive this much deserved recognition."
The Province of Manitoba and Sport Manitoba recently awarded Rachele Bosc, a veteran forward with the team, the Manitoba Foundation for Sports Scholarship as well as the Milt Stegal Scholarship to help ensure she continues to participate in sport while pursuing a post secondary education.
